Description
A classic bit of mid-century design from the Arabia Ruska range… A pair of 10″ dinner plates. Circa 1970s.
The Ruska glaze was designed by Ulla Procopé in around 1960, she worked for Arabia (Finland) from 1948 to 1968. The name Ruska roughly translates from the Finnish as ‘Autumn’. The glazes on these pieces vary enormously between tan to brown to black, one of these is a lighter mid brown and one is darker brown speckled, with a satin to matt finish.
Both are used and have cutlery marks and have been through a dishwasher.
Ideal as spares.
Simple lines and tactile, with natural autumn colouring, beautifully designed. Classic sturdy design. Brown glaze over white stoneware/earthenware.
25.5cm wide. They’re chunky and heavy.
Price is for both.
