A stylised ‘pipe rest’ or scoop-shaped bird figurine.
It’s by Just Andersen, Denmark and is stamped to the base.
Circa 1930s, but feels more mid century modernist.
It’s made from their own alloy (secret recipe) called Disko/Disco Metal, designed to mimic Bronze.
It feels like bronze, is the correct colour and weight and hardness.
Cast metal with metallic brown black finish, slight shine, weighty.
He’s lovely.
11cm long x 7cm high. Inner scoop is about 9cm long.
Very nice for age/era.
Small signs of age on very close inspection.
