Description
A super red Murano art glass geode dish. Made in Murano, Italy. Original design attributed to Mandruzzato or Seguso.
It’s teardrop shape from above, with rounded cut (faceted) upper sides, tapering down with rounded lower half to a small oval (flat polished) base. Each side is skillfully polished flat. There’s 12 cut sides which reflect the light in an amazing diamond-like way. Flat polished geode rim with a teardrop opening. It’s red internally (a deep rounded well) with a floating colour (sommerso). The outer glass, the casing, is a peach or amber colour.
It’s an original 1960’s/1970s version.
Hand made/hand finished – a beautifully made quality piece. Looks amazing in the sunshine!
Would have been a fancy ashtray back in the day.
5.5cm tall x 10cm widest. Around 520g – a smaller chunk of beautiful Venetian glass.
Great displayable condition with no obvious flaws.
Two tiny tiny fleabites, not noticeable (photos have macro lens).
The flat polished rim has a film to it.
Please study all photos, you’ll see it’s very good with no big issues.
Displays very well. Base has some slight signs of its age.
Nice original condition for the age.
