Description
A super large Murano art glass geode dish. Made in Murano, Venice, Italy.
It’s a teardrop shape from above, with a rounded lower half to a round (flat polished) base. Wide flat polished geode rim with a teardrop opening. It’s cobalt blue internally (a rounded well) with a pink floating colour layer (sommerso). The outer casing glass is clear.
It’s an original 1960s/1970s version.
Mouth blown, hand made/hand finished – a beautifully made quality piece.
Would have been a large heavy fancy ashtray back in the day.
A large 18.5 x 14.5 x 5.5cm tall. Rim is up to 3.5cm wide!
Around 1.3kg – a larger chunk of beautiful Venetian glass.
Nice displayable condition.
No chips.
The rim has a few fine insignificant scratches/marks.
The outers towards the base have some scratches, and the base is worn from age.
Please study all photos, you’ll see it’s very good with no big issues.
Displays very well.
