A small round vintage ornamental bowl, by Rye Pottery, England.
The printed stamp to the back dates it apx to 1957-1959 and by John and Walter Cole.
Rye Pottery was John Cole and Walter Cole. Walter (Wally) was responsible for creating the ceramics and running the pottery while John made the designs and created the patterns and decorations.
Wheel thrown and glazed white, the small pot or salts pot, or egg cup, has been hand painted with their Cottage Stripes pattern – black vertical thick and thin grey lines.
Best for display and for a collector rather than use.
In very good condition.
May have handmade glazing quirks/bubbles/spots – see photos.
Small – 5cm rim, 5cm tall.
