Description

A fabulous 1950s or 1960s abstract art vase by Fratelli Fanciullacci, Italy.

Pottery/ceramic with a matte grey/blue textured base colour with random white glossy splatter lines, overlaid with a black and yellow, green and red flower burst patterns. Signed on base ‘Italy 148’. The abstract design was featured on p105 of Mark Hill’s Alla Moda book. Each piece was hand-painted so it is unique, and any drips, wobbly bits and flaws are part of the artistic appeal.

Very good for the age and era with no cracks. There is a rim chip.
Please see all photos of it on display from all angles.

A small to mid sized 14.5cm tall x 8.5cm widest at the middle, baluster shaped.
Would hold about a dozen flower stems if used as a vase, but probably best for a collection.
A classic bit of Italian retro kitsch!
