Description
A lovely 1950s-1960s 3″ art glass paperweight by Whitefriars Glass, England.
Handmade/mouth blown glass in Twilight – a yellowy brown, (also quite similar to a Willow colouring too).
Design no 9308 (which dates from the early 1950s and was made all the way through to the 1970s) and this version is probably 1950s to 1960s.
It is the smaller sized 3″ version.
It features a series of carefully controlled spiralling internal bubbles (smaller near the top, getting bigger towards the base), and one larger middle internal bubble. It’s very hard to show in photos. It’s quite a dark version of the colourway.
Very good condition with no chips or anything jarring.
Typical Whitefriars base with some signs of age.
No conjoined bubbles. Some swirls to the top from being handmade. Nicely made.
3″ version – about 7.5cm wide x 6.5cm tall.
