A lovely silver plated (‘Alpha Plate’) lidded old cigarette box – for jewellery or trinkets or money etc.
Made by Viners of Sheffield, England, and circa 1930s to 1950s vintage.
Stamped on the inner lid.
A bit Victorian meets Rococo meets mid century in design.
Wooden (reddy wood) inner, likely cedar wood – see photos.
Full length hinge – works well and holds it open.
Silver plated metal with blank cartouche (for personalising) to the top and a folate/scroll design.
Felt base.
Good condition – a nice quality item.
Some marks to the silver plate being vintage.
A useful sized 19 x 11 x 4.5cm.
