Description
A fab mid century modern Vallauris jug vase.
Very likely by La Roue (The Wheel), Vallauris, France.
Circa 1960s vintage – very much in a West German x Italian style.
The ceramic/pottery vase has fat lava style bubbled glaze with glossy white and matt black.
Hand painted glossy fish – red and turquoise with a little yellow.
Beautifully stylised fishy.
Jug shaped, with handle and spout, though more ornamental.
Signed to the base – V.1112.D.
16cm tall x 9.5cm widest at the belly.
Very good, a couple of teeny nibbles to the rim line.
