Description
A fabulous 1960s brick-patterned vase by Fratelli Fanciullacci, Italy…
Pottery/ceramic with textured rectangular brick patterns, with smooth white ‘mortar’.
Bricks are glossy yellow, deep red, pink, baby blue over grey textures.
Smooth white lines in between appear to be a different clay.
Contrasting dusky pink glossy inside.
It fades from a round base up to a square rim.
Signed on base ‘5393 Italy’.
The abstract design was featured on p108 of Mark Hill’s Alla Moda book.
Each piece was hand-painted so it is unique, and any flaws are part of the artistic appeal.
Very good for the age and era with no chips.
It has some weird discolourations to the white.
See pics.
A medium sized 18.5cm tall x 10 x 10cm rim.
A classic bit of Italian retro kitsch!
