Description
An unusual small art pottery egg cup with integrated saucer by David T Sharp Pottery, Rye, Sussex.
Handmade, thrown on a wheel, and hand decorated.
Circa 1970s vintage.
It’s shades of bubbly dusky, duck egg and teal blue with black, using wax resist.
Light clay base with stylised signature.
Used with crazing in the cup and small nibbles around the rim.
Some of the inner rim crazing could be classed as small hairline cracks, see pics.
There’s a natural firing crack to the base from at the time.
Some white foamy patches on the saucer.
Good on display though.
9.5cm widest x 7cm tall.
