Description
A simple and unusual vintage/retro studio pottery vase or plant pot holder from 1976.
It’s a pale clay/pottery/stoneware vase, slab built or moulded and handmade.
Simple straight square body with narrower angled foot.
Three sides have simple incised lines and geometric block design, one side features a simple flower.
Incised signature to the base ‘DB’ and ’76’ for 1976.
I’ve not been able to identify the potter.
Muted earthy beiges and browns – typical of the 1970s era.
On close inspection and in the sun there’s a shimmer to the main body glaze.
Roughly 9 x 9cm square x 10.5cm tall.
Suited to both flowers and as a little planter.
Very good with no chips.
A lovely little simple 1976 display piece.
