Description
An Arabia, Finland, small espresso cup with two saucers, with decor designed by Inkeri Leivo in 1982. It was in production from 1982-1999 and is quite hard to find. The ceramic form/shape design was by Ulla Procopé in the 1960s.
A smart and sturdy tactile retro Scandinavian design, that feels contemporary and classy too. The glaze is pale oatmeal or off-white with a fine black stripe, a taupe stripe and a wider pale cornflower dusky blue stripe – the stripes are skilfully hand painted. Simple lines and natural colourings and beautifully designed.
Cup is a petite 7cm wide at the rim x 4.5cm high. Each saucer is 12cm wide. It holds about 100ml to the rim. Please check this is the right size for your collection. Suitable for an espresso or strong half-cup breakfast coffee. Each is stamped to the base.
Very good with very little signs of use, beautifully tactile.
