Description
A spare smoky brown glass mid-sized tumbler, designed in the late 1960s for Caithness, Scotland.
I’m unsure which range the glass is from but looks to be model number 4025/6oz.
The designer would be Domhnall OBroin, Charles Orr or Colin Terris.
Circa late 1960s to early 1980s vintage.
Circa late 1960s to early 1980s vintage.
This colour is Peat – a typically 1970s smokey warm brown colour, cased in clear glass.
‘Peat’ colouring was used to compliment whisky contents.
Inspired by Scottish nature and using Scandinavian modernist styling/design.
Probably the 6oz size – capacity is 1/3 pint, 180ml to the brim.
Perfect for a couple of shots with ice.
Distinctive simple straight flaring lines – a classy, understated and stable retro design.
Good vintage condition with a few tiny signs of use. See pics.

Handmade/mouth blown.
Around 8cm tall x 7.2cm wide rim x 5.5cm wide base.
Weighty with the solid glass base; feels chunky and tactile in the hand.
