A small vintage studio pottery art vase, by Carn Pottery, Penzance, Cornwall from the 1970s or so…
Carn Pottery was John Beusmans; he used muted matt blue, brown and green washes over a pale neutral-toned clays and is best known for his geometric Cubist or angular pieces.
John was inspired by the Cornish sea and landscapes with primitive Celtic/Runic Studio Pottery designs.
This vase is a geometric straight-sided and angled block vase.

The outers of this vase were probably moulded, then different contrasting decors were hand applied.
One side has a blue circles design, scribbles to the sides and grape vines to the back.
It has muted pale greeny earthy toned wash, with the blue wash.
A pale fine cream clay sculpture with a glossy glazed inner.
It has a Carn Pottery stamp to the base.
Handmade.
