Description

A vintage studio pottery art vase, by Carn Pottery, Penzance, Cornwall from the 1970s or so…
Carn Pottery was John Beusmans; he used muted blue, brown and green glazes over a pale neutral-toned clays and is best known for his geometric Cubist or angular pieces.
John was inspired by the Cornish sea and landscapes with primitive Celtic/Runic Studio Pottery designs.

The outers of this vase were probably rolled, slab built, with different contrasting decors hand applied.
One side has geometric lines and triangles, the other has a circle with some scribbles.
It has muted matt colours in pale greeny brown.
A pale fine cream clay sculpture with a glossy glazed inner.
It has a faded Carn Pottery stamp to the base.
