Description
A super art pottery/clay piggy bank…
Circa 1970s – typical of British Studio Pottery from that time.
He’s by Chelsea Pottery London and has his stamp to the base.
Apparently “Decorated by Joyce Morgan, using a mould by Brian Hubbard , which was made from a model by Frank Spindler.”
He’s been handmade and hand decorated with ink like black brush strokes, very much like David Sharp, Rye.
Hollow piggy form with tiny dot eyes and large floppy ears, and low piggy nose.
Over a pinky taupe matt basecoat.
Being a money box he has a slot to his back and a plastic stopper to his belly.
All very good, no chips. Displays very well.
An unusual and hard to find handmade Chelsea piggy.
16cm long x 11cm tallest x 10.5cm wide.
