Description
A fantastic Empoli or Scandinavian style green art glass vase, cased with white glass inside. Being cased, it’s opaque and not transparent, and also a lovely vivid colour. It’s circa 1960s/1970s vintage, mouth blown.
Although it has a part sticker to the base I can’t ID this. It’s in the style of Empoli Italy or Lindshammar, Ryd, Sea Glasbruk, or similar, or maybe Japanese.
It’s most likely mouth blown and hand finished using a mould, rather than being mass-produced pressed glass. Curvy shape with a lower hoop and small round foot and flared rim. The green is a bright pure mid green, typically mid 1970s. Beautiful colour. It’s probably more ornamental rather than practical.
No chips, very good condition and very displayable.
A smaller size – 17.8cm tall. The rim is 5.7cm wide.
