Description
A super pair of mid century silver cufflinks by F. Scheurle (Germany).
Stamped to the side of the posts with ‘925 FS’ (925 grade Sterling silver, F. Scheurle).
Stamped to the other sides with other tiny marks – probably import marks.
Mid century era (apx 1960s) and very much in a Minimalist and Modernist style (with the simple linear striped/grooved rectangular block shapes). Each side has straight black lines so the shorter block ends have a linear pattern.
Each block shape is roughly 22mm x 8mm x 5mm – a good size that will be seen.
Both have an angled hallmarked stem/post and toggle ends; both toggle very well.
They weigh a heavy 21 grams together, a good chunk of quality vintage mid century silver.
Good condition with a few tiny signs of age.
