A super Paul Smith semi-abstract owl sculpture, part of a small limited edition of 250. This is a contemporary art piece from within the last 5-6 years or so. This owl is numbered 96 of 250 – see photos.
The modernist simplified style ‘marble resin’ owl was handmade by Paul Smith, Derbyshire, and looks to be no longer available on his website. The resin feels like a stone or carved dense bone, it’s an off-white with a whiter face and is perching on a rectangular block. He sits on a felt base.
12.3cm tall x 5.5cm wide x 4.5cm deep – perfect for a shelf display.
Very good pre-loved condition. It has been handled so has a natural dulling to the white in places, mostly to the back – it’s hard to tell if this is as the artist intended.
