Description
An unusual vintage handmade (wheel thrown) pale clay vase or pot or cup or chalice or trophy, by Rye Pottery, Sussex.
The base stamp dates it to 1957 to 1969 mid century, and very likely by John and Walter Cole.
Dusky deep olive or leaf green with fine black lines design.
Dusky deep olive or leaf green with fine black lines design.
Twin curved handles.
White glazed inner.
More ornamental than practical.
Very good condition, as manufactured/hand made with natural glazing quirks and wobbles.
As you can see the glaze resisted in lots of places so there are weird spots showing the clay below.
See all pics. Displays better one way round.
No chips or cracks.
A good sized 11.8cm tall x 10cm wide at rim. 16cm wide with the two white curled handles.
