A vintage handmade pottery mug, by Rye Pottery, Sussex.
This is a 1969-1978 original vintage piece.
Rye Pottery was John Cole and Walter Cole from 1947. Walter (Wally) was responsible for creating the ceramics and running the pottery while John made the designs and created the patterns and decorations.

The back stamp dates the piece from 1969-1978. It has light coloured clay and likely decorated by Wally Cole. Skilfully wheel thrown and glazed white, the straight-sided simple mug has hand-painted flowers and leaves. The design is dusky blue, pink and deep yellow in pastel shades.
Very good condition, minimal signs of use/use.
A couple of tiny dots to the rim and a hidden small base line chip.
7.2cm tall x 7.8cm at rim… a small and wide mug with medium capacity.
Perfect for a Rye collection.
