Description
A simple and stylish art pottery oval vase.
It’s a rough stoneware/pottery vase, thrown on a wheel and handmade.
Round oval body (scraped back, like a coconut) with rippled glazed pulled neck/rim detail.
Biscuit neutral matt brown tones.
Probably 1970s vintage.
Nicely made.
It’s stamped to the base with the maker’s mark, CP, I’ve not been able to identify the potter.
It could be Chessell Pottery (Isle of Wight), Cooper Pottery or Colin Pearson.
Please see the hand incised CP logo on the base. I’ll let you decide.
10cm tall x 7.5cm widest, 3cm rim.
Good.
One tiny white chip to the right front of the ‘folds’.
