Description
A super example of a Caithness Stroma bud vase #4022.
It’s in the hard to find “Kingfisher Blue” colour.
Circa late 1980s to 1990s.
This kingfisher is very vivid, like a bright teal or petrol, and is cased in clear glass.
It has its original faded sticker.
Made in Scotland.
Designed by Domhnall OBroin in 1961 – he was strongly influenced by the clean simple lines of Scandinavian design and he used a sommerso technique for this design, as per Murano, Italy.
Nice simple Modernist mid century design, in Kingfisher from the late 80s.
Very good condition.
Flat polished rim and base are great – great for display and for a collection.
These vases are tall and slim and would only suit a single tall stem… 7.5 inches tall.
