Description
A set of eight stacking nesting Russian dolls, from the USSR back in the day.
Stamped to the base of the largest.
Circa 1970s vintage but that’s just guessing, they may be older.
Handmade from a lightweight softwood, each is handpainted a different colour.
The tallest is 11cm, smallest just 5mm.
The smallest fit inside each other, see pics.
The three smallest are so tiny they’re not painted.
Good vintage condition.
The big one is used and vintage with varnish crackling and wood chips and very stiff opening (I won’t seal it shut).
The big one would have been handled a lot more.
