Description
A super large Studio art pottery vase by Dennis Townsend at Iden Pottery, near Rye, Sussex.
Handmade, thrown on a wheel, and hand decorated.
Browns and beiges and neutral glazes.
It has a brutalist bark textured panel at the bottom and smooth curvy uppers.
Not that typical of his work – an unusual Iden piece.
Stamped to base with an earlier Iden logo, so circa 1960s vintage.
Very good with no crazing or chips.
A good sized 24cm tall x 10cm wide in the body, 12cm widest near the curvy rim.
