Description
A pair of smoky brown glasses good-sized whisky tumblers, designed in the late 1960s for Caithness, Scotland.
I’m unsure which range the glass is from but looks to be model number 4025.
The designer would be Domhnall OBroin, Charles Orr or Colin Terris.
Circa late 1960s to early 1980s vintage.
Circa late 1960s to early 1980s vintage.
This colour is Peat – a typically 1970s smokey warm brown colour, cased in clear glass.
‘Peat’ colouring was used to compliment whisky contents.
Inspired by Scottish nature and using Scandinavian modernist styling/design.
Capacity is 1/3 pint,220ml to the brim.
Perfect for a couple of shots with ice.
Distinctive simple straight flaring lines – a classy, understated and stable retro design.
Very good condition with no signs of use. See pics.

Handmade/mouth blown so some wobbles to the rim and a bubble or two.
Around 8cm tall x 8cm wide rim x 6.5cm wide base.
Wider and chunkier than my other glass for sale.
Weighty with the solid glass base; feels chunky and tactile in the hand.
