Description
A super Murano style art glass vase from the 1960s or so.
It’s by Adam Jablonski Glass – he clearly loved the mid century modernist pieces and copied a Murano winged vase here.
Most of his items on the market today are his recent pieces, and I’m pretty sure this is an older piece.
It’s quite different to his usual work.
He started glass blowing in the 1950s, in Poland.
This large heavy winged vase is hand signed Jablonski and has his sticker to the base too.
It’s a Royal blue with a green bubbly cloudy/whispy sommerso layer, cased in clear glass.
Skilfully mouth blown and handmade.
It’s a large heavy piece – 22cm tall x 15cm widest x 6cm widest.
Weighs 1.7kg – quite a lump of solid glass.
Very good apart from a chip to the end of a wing, see pics.
Flat polished base with the correct signs of age for the mid century.
You can see tooling marks and some ash? to the wings.
