This is just like a Humppila Northern Lights art glass bowl… Or this design may also be by Bergdala, Sweden – their copy of the Humppila bowl. Also very similar to the Czech version – by Pavel Panek for Libochovice – and also like Ravenhead designs (please google all these as a comparison). Please let me know if you know for sure who it’s by! It’s quality and heavy for the size with a crystal content. Most likely to date from the late 70s Scandinavia.
It’s clear and ice like and the outside is irregular and textured and jagged with an irregular spiky rim. It would have been mass produced pressed glass, but each one was hand finished with different spikes – these spikes here are quite regular and not too undulating. Medium sized, perfect fruit bowl size! 20cm wide at the rim, 10cm tall max. Base is 8cm wide and is moulded.
Very good condition for age, with no chips or marks. Pressed/molded glass, handmade/hand-finished using a mould.
Stunning on display, fab retro Scandinavian feel. Perfect for any mid-century or designer interior.
