Description
A nice example of a 1970s Caithness Oban oval vase, made in Scotland.
Designed by Charles Orr and Paul Ysart in 1968.
It’s a clear ‘topedo’ oval shaped bud vase, with enclosed blue and lime green stripes in the lower half, fading upwards.
The coloured rods inside were imported from Kugler.
Cased in clear at the base.
It’s a nice simple Modernist mid century design, with a splash of colour.
Very good condition.
Flat polished rim and base are very good.
No age to the base.
Some tiny natural bubbles within.
This vase would hold half a dozen mid length stems… this is 16cm x 3cm wide inside rim.
