A vintage studio pottery art vase, by Carn Pottery, Penzance, Cornwall from the 1970s or so…
Carn Pottery was John Beusmans; he used muted matt blue, brown and green washes over a pale neutral-toned clays and is best known for his geometric Cubist or angular pieces.
John was inspired by the Cornish sea and landscapes with primitive Celtic/Runic Studio Pottery designs.
This vase is a larger straight-sided cylinder vase.

The outers of this vase were probably moulded, then different contrasting decors were hand applied.
One side has a diamond design with looping/scribbles and spots.
The other side has a lovely alien-like circles design.
It has muted pale beige brown earthy toned wash.
A pale fine cream clay sculpture with a glossy glazed inner.
It has a Carn Pottery stamp to the base.
