A vintage studio pottery art vase, by Carn Pottery, Penzance, Cornwall from the 1970s or so…
Carn Pottery was John Beusmans; he used muted blue, brown and green glazes over a pale neutral-toned clays and is best known for his geometric Cubist or angular pieces.
John was inspired by the Cornish sea and landscapes with primitive Celtic/Runic Studio Pottery designs.
This vase is small slim cylinder shape.
The outers of this vase were probably rolled, slab built, with different contrasting decors hand applied.
One side has geometric lines and triangles, the other has a circle with some scribbles.
It has muted matt colours in pale greeny brown.
A pale fine cream clay sculpture with a glossy glazed inner.
It has a faded Carn Pottery stamp to the base.
Overall – 13.2cm tall x 4.3cm wide.
Very good clean condition with no chips or cracks or damage.
