Description
A David Sharp Pottery hand painted and signed robin figurine.
David started by working in Rye Pottery in the 60s I believe, then moved on and ended up working on his own, so these signed David Sharp pieces came post Rye Pottery and probably 1970s.
Rye Pottery did versions of these too, but smaller.
David did loads of fun stylised figurines, I’d not seen a robin until now.
Hollow moulded clay/pottery.
With slap-dash painted glazes.
Brown and pink glossy tones.
11cm tall x 12cm long x 6cm deep… larger than life.
Signed to the base, also signed with a W within, W may have been another worker who helped.
Shows signs of age with some crazing visible to the white areas underneath.
Some lighter areas to the extremities where the glaze probably wore off.
No chips
