Description
A super David Sharp Pottery, Rye, Sussex, large art pottery piggy bank.
He’s been handmade and hand decorated in teal/dark duck egg blue/green with black stripes – using a wax resist.
Signed underneath, nicely different from other David Sharp piggies.
Being a money box he has a slot to his back and a hole underneath for a stopper (but David made it too big/wobbly).
Unfortunately this piggy has had an impact to one side resulting in a small 5mm missing shard of glaze and some hard to see hairline cracks.
He displays well and the cracks are hard to see but a hairline both sides makes the sound ‘dull’.
I can’t tell if the underneath of his hooves are as intended with some rough rubs underneath.
As found, please see all pics.
18cm long x 12cm tallest x 10cm wide.
