A small round vintage ornamental bowl, by Rye Pottery, England.

The incised stamp to the back dates it to 1947-1954 and by John and Walter Cole.
An early Rye Pottery piece, simple, minimal.


Rye Pottery was John Cole and Walter Cole. Walter (Wally) was responsible for creating the ceramics and running the pottery while John made the designs and created the patterns and decorations. 

Wheel thrown and glazed white, the small bowl or salts pot, has been hand painted with some fine blue grey lines and a yellow line. Biscuit coloured clay base with incised early logo.


Best for display and for a collector rather than use. 
In very good condition. 
May have handmade glazing quirks – see photos. 
Some small marks inside.
Small – 7.5cm rim, 4cm tall.
