Description
A mid-century wide low bowl, by Egersund, Norway. The design is ‘Kongo’, an Onion design, and it’s by Kåre Blokk Johansen. Dating from the 1960s.
A simple ceramic round dish with the Kongo print all round, black outlines with hand-painted bits in ochre, purple and blue. Base colour glaze is a neutral ivory and the rim is an egg yolk yellow. Ideal as a kitchen item or for a decorative piece. Perfect size for holding nuts, crisps etc, or being part of a collection.
Stamped to base with the logo.
Good vintage condition with no crazing, see pics.
One external small historic outer rim flaw.
