Description
A super mid century Italian mosaic-style vase by Gialletti GP, Deruta, Italy.
It’s in a Byzantine style and uses a Trompe-l’œil ’tile’ technique.
The ceramic vase has precise incised lines and patterns, before hand painting on the coloured glazes, creating the illusion of individually laid stone or glass tiles.
The face on one side looks to be an applied image.
Mostly gold leaf shiny gold colours, with blues and rich greens.
Deep green inside.
Please study pics to see the workmanship.
15cm or 6″ tall x 5.5cm cylinder on a foot.
Hand signed underneath.
Very good with no chips or cracks.
