A design classic, a retro 1970s corkscrew…
Chunky, tactile and all glossy black acrylic, with double twist/pull mechanism.
Made by Imp Ltd, High Wycombe, England.
The design was patent no 44404 and it was selected for the Design Centre London (would have had the triangular sticker).
A lot of these are transparent or smoke colour.
This is black with a ‘Gold Block’ (tobacco) wording.
Reads (in simple gold lettering): Gold Block, subtle persuasive distinctive.
Black body is a minimum of 13cm long, with the protruding steel screw it’s 17cm long.
All very good condition with a good shine.
A lovely addition to any retro or black and white kitchen/bar area.
