Description
Midwinter Pottery open sugar bowl, circa 1970s to early 1980s vintage.
It’s the Midwinter Stonehenge shape (base of cream with random iron oxide brown speckles/trim which is ‘Creation’) with the glossy Moon design – deep blue and lighter blue stripes. The design was by Eve Midwinter and it was launched in 1973 and produced until the mid 1980s. Very retro and a design classic in one of the harder to find colour-ways.
9cm tall x 10cm diameter. Simple cylinder shape.
Very good condition.
No cutlery marks or chips or crazing.
The iron oxide browns are quite pale.
An imperfection to the blue pattern – from at the time and quite typical.
Due to the nature of the random glazes these are all slightly different and unique with different speckles and stripes.
