A stunning vintage Modernist porcelain vase by Rosenthal, West Germany from the Studio Linie range.
I’m not sure who the design is by, but it’s likely 1970s boho vintage.
It features hand painted stripes of solid colour – burgundy, pale yellow, pale pink and deep yellow – with over painted dividing coloured ovals. The ovals have then been hand painted over with gold. The gold decor is reflective gilt, so reflects and shines in different ways – see pics.
The vase is modernist in shape and from the Studio Linie range, launched in 1961. It’s a single stem vase with very narrow rim.
18cm tall x 8cm widest. A minimalist Modernist shape and retro 70s/80s Bohemian hand painted decor. Stamped with the Rosenthal Studio Linie logo to the base. Also stamped with the Handmalerei mark on the base, confirming the decoration was applied by hand rather than via mechanical transfer.
Very good condition with not many signs of age. A simple, stylish, elegant piece.
