A fabulous mid-century style hand-carved rosewood ‘swan’ or bird or duck.
Danish inspired, it’s probably British origin though it is unsigned.
Skilfully handmade from a rosewood (or similar) – a distinctive streaky wood with defined grain.
It’s mounted on a teardrop shaped plinth.
Circa 1960s-1990s vintage – modernist and minimalist in style.
He’s a larger sized 25.5cm tall x 10cm x 5.5cm deepest.

A very slight subtle hairline to the beak, it hasn’t broken or been fixed.
Unsigned.
The hardwood has a dark reddy black tone, with a natural lightly-oiled finish – smooth and tactile with a sheen.
There’s a screw underneath the plinth holding him in place; he can be turned slightly.
Perfect for a mid-century inspired interior.
Great for a collector of teak or rosewood retro animals – photos don’t do him justice!
