A fab realistic lizard or gecko brooch by Ruth Waterhouse, Tasmiania, Australia.
Ruth Waterhouse established her business in 1986 and has specialised in creating Australian Wildlife Jewellery over the decades as RW Jewelery.
The animals you’ll find in Ruth’s collection include frogs, lizards, snakes, bats, birds, octopus, weedy sea dragon, seahorses, green turtle, humpback whale and seals.
I’m not sure if she still makes jewellery.
Cast bronze with lots of fine detail.
This is likely vintage from the 1990s.
It’s mounted on its original cushion (doubles up as a picture with prop to back) with her name on, and is stamp signed internally.
Very clever curved tuck under pin fastening (bit fiddly).
