Description
A vintage Rye Pottery (Sussex, England) round ball pomander.
The pottery/clay ball has holes to the top and a stopper to the base.
Designed to hold pot pourri or lavender or other scented bits, and look pretty.
Handmade and hand painted with a pretty flower and leaves design over white, repeated three times, with larger blue flower to the top.
Quite simple and typical of Rye pieces from the mid century – circa 1950s-1960s.
Stamped with the Rye Pottery logo to base, original (useable) stopper.
Ball is about 7cm tall x 7cm wide.
Very good.
These days, more a pretty vintage ceramic ball for display.
