Lovely Iittala Avena art glass vase designed by Tapio Wirkkala.
Vase design no 3429, crystal content glass
It has an irregular jagged ice/bark/ripple surface texture with narrow foot and tapering to wider top.
Finnish art glass, Scandinavian.
Handmade, blown into a mould and hand finished.
It’s a 1970’s design and I think this is an older version.
It is fully hand-signed to the base “TAPIO WIRKKALA 3429”.
Good condition.
Three small nibbles to the rim – the two closer together have had an attempt at being rubbed down/repaired, leaving the rim matt for this one inch section.
