Description

A lovely vintage Caithness Stroma bud vase #4022.
It’s in Heather (plum purple) colour.
Circa late 1960s to 1980s.

This heather is a dull browny purple, and is cased in clear glass.
Made in Scotland.
Designed by Domhnall OBroin in 1961 – he was strongly influenced by the clean simple lines of Scandinavian design and he used a sommerso technique for this design, as per Murano, Italy.
Nice simple Modernist mid century design.

Very good condition.
Flat polished rim and base are very good.
A couple of small insignificant surface marks.

These vases are slim and would only suit a single tall stem…
This example is 19.5cm tall.
