Description

A simple and stylish large art glass bowl/ashtray from the 1960s.
See last photo, looking online it’s an unidentified maker/model.
I don’t know if that means it’s hard to find/rare.

Please let me know if you know what it is, thank you.

My feeling is that it’s Adolf Matura for Libochovice or Rudolf Jurnikl for Rosice Glassworks, Sklo Union.
Czech/Bohemian and dating from the early 1960s to early 1970s.
It has the typical Sklo baseline and is a typical tactile feel and colourway.

A curving sculptural oval shape, on a round base, with round ridge to the top and a dip each end for a cigar.
Made from moulded glass.
Mid-century modernist and retro in style.
It’s an amethyst tone of pale purple/lilac (looks bluer on the photos).

Very good condition. Minimal signs of age – I’d give it  8.5/10.
One tiny rim impact, see pics.

15.5 x 10.5 x 5cm.
Heavy for its size – 700g.
