Description
An adorable owl figurine by Briglin Pottery, London, from the 1960s/1970s.
Beautifully stylised and typical of Studio Pottery from at the time.
It’s a medium size with cute low sad eyes.
Small glazed face with cute (hole) eyes and pointy beak.
The glaze is cream and natural brown tones, with sgraffito (scratched) feathers.
It’s stamped to the base.
Unused moneybox – ie empty (these had no option to open to get money out).
Apx 9.5x8cm.
Good, nice example.
Some more angled areas around the baseline, I can’t tell if they’re vintage chips or scrapes of clay from being manufactured. See photo of base.
They’re all different – lots to collect.
