Description
A Dala (Swedish folk art) handmade carved chicken ornament.
This example is an unknown vintage (1960s to 1990s) and is made by Nils Olsson, brother of Gannas Olsson. The original fabric label reads “Nils Olsson… Sweden”.
Made in Sweden, hand carved from carefully selected pine, hand painted and varnished. The colours are yellow, khaki green, sky blue, red and white, over black, and the finish is glossy. He stands 6.5″ tall or 17cm.
He is in good used condition, see photos.
A few small marks and cracks to the paintwork. One splinter of wood missing to his upper comb.
