A super vintage, probably almost antique, glass cocktail set…
I believe it’s French and later Art Deco period (30s/40s).
The set consists of four glasses, a glass tray and a cocktail shaker/pourer.
Each item is hand painted with a different image depicting a cock fight, see pics.
All trimmed with gold/gilt.
The four glasses: handmade and delicate.
10.5cm tall x 7.5cm at rim. Small capacity.
Just 1 small chip to a base and 1 tiny fleabite to a rim that I can see and feel.
The tray: quite thick and heavy. 26.5 x 2.2cm
Some scratches to the base but no chips and good gold rim.
The large shaker/mixer/pitcher:
24.5cm tall x 9.5cm widest.
The stopper and bottle rim design enables you to be able to form a seal for shaking/mixing, then rotating the stopper round to form a pouring channel for dispensing.
Stopper very good, a few fleabites underneath inside. The stopper has wear to the gold from being handled.
Bottle/jug has a double lip for pouring. Clean with no chips.
All very good!
Paintings are good with not much wear.
There may be the odd mark, but I really can’t see anything.
It’s probably always been for best and for show in a cabinet.
