A beautiful Mexican ‘Tonala’ origin hand-made stylised owl figurine.
Circa 1970s-1980s vintage.
This one was imported by Tumi UK – label to base.
Beautiful naive/folk/traditional style decorations in dark brown and purple, over a black ceramic.
He’s a polished hollow clay figure (black coloured base) and has a shiny smooth finish with incised lines with the patterns.
He looks like carved soapstone but I’m pretty sure it’s clay.
12.5cm tall x 10cm wide x 7cm deep.
Good condition.
